John Wind has had a lifelong relationship with eclecticism. “My jewelry is inspired by the past, but with a modern spin,” says the Maximal Art CEO and designer. “I get constant inspiration from the things I love most—antiquing, fashion, travel, crafts, and bringing joy to people.”
Born in Israel then raised in Philadelphia, John studied fiction writing at the University of Pennsylvania, then won a Thouron Scholarship to study fine art at the Slade School of Art in London. While in London, the eclectic, vintage/modern style that became his signature was born.
Returning to the U.S. and starting Maximal Art in 1985, he gained quick acclaim for his unique designs. The John Wind Signature Collection was born in 2004. Hearkening back to John’s London days, the line is a funky mix of old and new, elegant chandelier crystals and beads with vintage chains and quirky charms. It has been received with great enthusiasm from press and collectors alike— and by loyal cusotmers like you!
